Explosion hazard assessment

The explosion risk assessment shall include, among other things, the identification of potentially explosive areas, the determination of the relevant explosion endangered zones and the identification of ignition factors.

What are the benefits of having such a document?

The  assessment of explosion hazard facilitates the subsequent analysis and evaluation of the explosion risk. According to the regulations, the developer, designer or employer is obliged to have such a document.

How is assessment of explosion hazard performer?

  1. Determine the hazard – which materials or equipment create a real risk.
  2. Determination of the relevant endangered zones indoors and outdoors.
  3. Classification of an explosion endangered areas.
  4. Identifying factors that can initiate the ignition of explosive mixtures.
  5. Preparing documentation of the location, type and extent of designated explosion hazardous areas.
  6. Providing guidelines for the selection of appropriate electrical and non-electrical equipment for explosion – hazardous areas.
  7. Development of technical recommendations for the protection of facilities and installations against the effects of explosion.

The whole process should take place in cooperation with the relevant emergency services operating in the area.

Explosion hazard assessment – what we offer
